The ambition of Pierre Properties Hotels is to build a portfolio of high quality hotel assets, both in Paris and across France. Pierre Properties Hotels has positioned itself in the medium and high-end segments

Our investment strategy is as follows:

• acquiring existing hotels with value creation capacity either due to renovation and expansion projects or through improving performance

• the creation of hotel premises and businesses by repurposing existing buildings or constructing new buildings

Who are we?

Financière Chatel

Financière Chatel is an investment holding company owned by Joseph Châtel and his family. Joseph Châtel began in 1982 at Fidal and he went on to manage two family business.

He became a partner and Director of development at Richelieu Finance in 1998. Joseph Châtel was co-Founder and CEO of the DNCA Finances Group from 2006 to 2015, one of the most renowned French success stories in the asset management sector. In keeping with the entrepreneurial spirit which has driven him from the start, Joseph combined a long-term vision with dynamism to achieve one consistent goal: predict tomorrow’s trends to stay ahead of the curve.

After DNCA was acquired by Natixis Global Asset Management, Joseph earned his reputation as a visionary by leveraging his creativity to support the real-estate and hospitality investment and finance sector. He is a co-founder and the current CEO of Pierre Premier Gestion, a real-estate management company managing 750 million euros assets.

As a passionate lifestyle entrepreneur, he also co-founded the March Lab watchmaking company. Today, Joseph Chatel has a passion for hospitality. Driven by his conviction that the sector has much to offer, he co-founded the new hotel brand Maison Heler with the designer Philippe Starck, and has recently partnered with Bourrelier Group to develop Pierre Properties Hôtels.

BOURRELIER Group

BOURRELIER Group, previously known as BRICORAMA, is a family-owned company which has been publicly traded (Euronext Growth) since 1996. The Group was founded in 1975 by Jean-Claude Bourrelier and had considerable growth in home improvement specialised mass distribution in France and Spain (Bricorama and Batkor) and in Belgium and the Netherlands (Karwei and Gamma).

In Early 2018 the group sold its home improvement business in France and Spain. With 1500 employees, the group is focussing on developing its home improvement business in Belgium and the Netherlands.

The company has been built on a strong entrepreneurial culture, and its directors are looking for investments in innovative forward-facing businesses with a priority for corporate commercial and industrial projects. After some minority shareholding, the group finalised the acquisition of Mavic, a leading parts manufacturer in the bicycle industry, in summer 2020. The company also designs and manufactures high-end bicycle components.

Financière Lefèvre

Catherine Lefèvre graduated with an Engineering decree from the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (French Civil Aviation University) and graduated from the Paris Institute of Political Studies. After working in the banking sector for 12 years and spending 5 years as financial director and secretary general of a medium-sized company, she became an independent consultant focussing on the aviation, retail, luxury and hospitality sectors. In this final sector, she has taken part in acquisitions, supervised the construction of hotels and audited hotel operations in France and the UK. Among other projects, she has conducted a structural and financial reorganisation on behalf of a social tourism company which operates 42 sites in France.

She recently took part in the founding of the hospitality brand Maison Heler. Catherine passionately believes that hotels should prioritise customer experience, and has brought together a network of talented experts in the field (designers, chefs, restaurant managers, spa brand creators, yield managers, digital managers). Catherine contributes to Pierre Properties Hotels hospitality initiative via the family-owned holding company Financière Lefèvre.

Christophe Havret

After receiving training at a graduate business school, Christophe spent 17 years working for large banking institutions both in France and abroad, founding, developing and managing various banking, finance and investment businesses in international financial markets.

In 2004, he left the banking sector to create CARA Partners & Investors, his Asset Management Consulting company which became accredited in 2005 for the Financial Investment Consulting sector.

As a regular feature in the Décideurs Leaders League rankings since 2015, Christophe supports and advises clients, senior executives, families and company managers regarding every aspect of private and professional asset management, supported by a network of expert professionals (M&A consulting, legal experts, solicitors and accounting experts).
Alongside developing his Asset Management Consulting business, he also actively participates in several Private Equity operations by leveraging his expertise in mergers and acquisitions which he offers to his clients.
